CITY TOUR POR AREQUIPA, CAÑON DEL COLCA Y LAGUNA DE SALINAS

DETAILED ITINERARY:

DÍA 01: TRANSFER IN – TOUR CAMPIÑA EN BUS PANORÁMICO

At an appropriate time, transfer from the Airport to your respective Hotel.

02:00pm – Our meeting point will be the Plaza de Armas and then we will go to the tourist bus stop located on Calle Zela block 03, we will enjoy the entire tour on the second floor of the bus to have a better view of all the tourist attractions of the city of Arequipa, making stops at the following points:

Our first point will be the Yanahuara District where we can take photos in the famous Portals of Yanahuara with the Misti volcano in the background, too. We will be able to appreciate the Church of this traditional district.

Then we go to the second point which will be the Mirador de Carmen Alto, there you can see the terraces of the district and our three representative volcanoes that we have in Arequipa; the Misti, Chachani and Pichu Pichu.

Next we move to the third point which will be the Minizoológico de Incalpaca, where we can appreciate the four South American camelids (Llama, Alpaca, Vicuña and Guanaco).

Our fourth point is the Goyeneche Palace, a colonial mansion with a lot of history.

Later, our fifth point is the Founder's Mansion; a colonial mansion, now converted into a museum, that houses important relics from the history of the city of Arequipa. Admission is optional but recommended given the rich history it houses.

Finally, we will visit the sixth point which will be the Sabandia Mill inside which the water mill is operating. Admission is optional, if you want to stay outside you can find optional activities such as Horseback Riding, ATV ride and Zipline. Finishing the tour we will leave you near the Plaza de Armas.

Overnight

DÍA 02: CAÑON DEL COLCA FULL DAY

03:45am to 04:00am – Pick up from Hotels in the city center.

04:00am- Departure from Arequipa to Chivay.

After 3 hours of travel we will arrive at the town of Chivay where we will enjoy a delicious breakfast. Then we will move to the Mirador de la Cruz del Cóndor, which is 30 minutes away, an observation point of the Colca Canyon and, if possible, to see the spectacular flight of the Condor. At this point we will spend an average of 45 minutes to observe the beauty of the Colca Canyon. We will take a short optional walk of approximately 30 minutes to appreciate the terraces of the Colca Valley a little more.

On the way back we will stop at the viewpoints of the area from where we will observe the impressive andenería del Valle, then we will visit the town of Maca, where we will see its church and optional taste local drinks such as the Colca Sour, made from local products.

Before lunch we will enjoy a relaxing bath in the Hot Springs (payment on behalf of the pax) whose thermo-medicinal waters range between 35º C to 38º C in temperature in the pools.

12:30pm - Lunch in Chivay (payment on behalf of the pax).

We begin our return journey to Arequipa and during the journey we will stop at the Mirador de los Volcanes, which is also the highest area of the road (4800 meters above sea level) from where we will appreciate a large part of the western mountain range. Then we will make a short stop at the Bofedales of Toccra where we will observe a large number of Alpacas grazing freely in the area. We will pass through the Salinas and Aguada Blanca National Reserve, home of vicuñas which live freely in this area.

05:30pm – We will arrive at the city of Arequipa and we will leave you very close to the Plaza de Armas.

DÍA 03: LAGUNA DE SALINAS FULL DAY - TRANSFER OUT

06:15am to 06:45am – We begin the pick-up from the hotels in the city center.

06:45am – We begin our journey to the Salinas Lagoon making different stops.

Our first visit will be at the Mirador de los Volcanes in the Chiguata district; which we will arrive in an average of 45 minutes; From there we can observe our representative volcanoes and take photos.

Later we will be arriving at the Main Square of Chiguata where its traditional Espiritu Santo Church is located and we will enjoy a traditional breakfast from the area.

Then we will continue our journey and in a journey of approximately 1 hour we will make a stop at the Alto Simbral (4200 meters above sea level) where we will be able to observe plants in the area such as the Queñua, Yareta, Tola , etc.

Continuing our journey we will arrive at the Salinas Lagoon where we will stay between 01 hour to 01 hour and 30 minutes making different stops to observe flamingos, parihuanas, and water bodies (from January to March). , sightings of vicuñas, llamas and alpacas (all year round).

In the dry season (April to December) we will visit the salt extraction centers where imagination is essential to take spectacular photographs. Then we will head towards the Hot Springs and mini volcano of Lojen to enjoy a relaxing bath. Finally we will return to Chiguata for lunch and then we will begin our way back to the city of Arequipa.

04:30pm - Arrival in the city and we will leave you near the Plaza de Armas.

At the indicated time, transfer from your Hotel to the Airport. End of our services.
