DETAILED ITINERARY:

DÍA 01: TRANSFER IN + CITY PEATONAL + MONASTERIO DE SANTA CATALINA

At the indicated time, transfer from the Airport to your respective Hotel.

02:00pm – We pick you up from your respective hotel to begin our pedestrian tour.

We will begin the City Tour from the Arequipa Plaza de Armas where a detailed explanation of the history of the Arequipa Cathedral and the portals that surround it will be given. the Plaza de Armas.

Later we head towards the Church of the Company of Jesus where we will give a brief explanation about the history of the church and its construction.

Casa Tristán del Pozo, is a building that for many architectural scholars, the pediment of the façade of this house is the best exponent of the typical ornamentation of Arequipa, in Peru.

Plaza and Church of San Francisco, make up one of the most beautiful buildings in the city, being the fourth temple and the third house of religious.

We will visit the Monastery of Santa Catalina considered a colonial citadel within another city; There you can see enclosures that were built according to their religious needs; It has streets and avenues, and it also has its own cemetery.

05:00pm – We will finish the tour and take you back to your hotel.

DÍA 02: VALLE DEL COLCA - CHIVAY - HOTEL COLCA LODGE

08:00am to 08:30am – We will pick you up from your respective hotel.

08:30am - We begin our trip to one of the deepest and most beautiful canyons in the world. Our trip lasts approximately 4 hours to reach the main town of Chivay, making tourist stops along the way. We will pass through the Salinas and Aguada Blanca National Reserve, where we can see the vicuñas, the main camelid that lives in the area, after which we will visit Patahuasi to take a the traditional Coca Mate, a traditional drink essential for altitude sickness (soroche). Later we will make a small stop at the Bofedales de Toccra where we will observe a large number of Alpacas grazing freely in the area. A mandatory stop at the Mirador de los Volcanes, the highest point of the road that reaches 4800 meters above sea level, from where we will appreciate a large part of the western mountain range, from this point we begin the descent towards the town of Chivay arriving in approximately 40 minutes.

Buffet lunch in Chivay. Then we will settle in our respective hotels. During the afternoon we can enjoy the facilities of our hotel in Colca

Overnight.

DÍA 03: MIRADOR DE LA CRUZ DEL CONDOR

After breakfast we will move to the Mirador de la Cruz del Cóndor, which is 30 minutes away, an observation point of the Colca Canyon and, if possible, appreciate the spectacular flight of the Condor. . At this point we will spend an average of 45 minutes to be able to observe the beauty of the valley.

On the way back we will stop at the viewpoints in the area from where we will observe the impressive Andenería del Valle and in the town of Maca, where we will see its church and optionally taste local drinks such as Colca Sour, made from local products.

Buffet Lunch.

01:00pm – We begin our return journey towards the city of Arequipa. If on the first day of our tour we did not know any point on the way to Chivay, on the return we can make a stop to be able to meet all the tourist stops, depending on the weather and the group.

04:30pm – We will arrive in the city of Arequipa, and we will drop you off at your respective hotel.

DÍA 04: RUTA DEL SILLAR - CHECK OUT

08:30am – 09:00am – In this period of time we pick up from the hotels located in the center of Arequipa.

We begin our journey towards the Sillar Route, which is a tourist route with a lot of history and living culture, where we visit quarries and areas where the ashlar originated. The first point we will stop at will be the Añashuayco Quarry; which we will arrive in approximately 45 minutes. It is currently in operation, the stonemasons carry out their work very early; In the place we can see an immense canyon with cliffs (ignimbrite walls) that are several meters high, formed by the extraction for the formation of the Ashlars. At this point we will tell you the history of ashlar, its production and the use that has always been given to it. In this quarry you can see a Megacarving of the Church of the Company of Jesus made by the stonemasons themselves. We can also visit one of them so that they can explain to us what their daily work is like and they can make us experiment by cutting one of their stone blocks ourselves.

Next we will move to the Quebrada de Culebrillas, which is 30 minutes away from Añashuayco. Arriving at this point we will take a walk of approximately 20 minutes into the small canyon that was formed by the passage of water, which has walls of 15 to 20 meters. As we enter it, the walls of the canyon increase in height. At the end of the walk we will be able to see petroglyphs with descendants of the Wari culture more than a thousand years ago. Before returning to the city we will observe the Apachetas, which are stone formations placed one on top of the other that are a symbol of gratitude towards nature and also an attraction of good luck which cause a mystical sensation.

11:30am - We will begin the return journey to the city of Arequipa.

12:30pm – We will arrive at the center of Arequipa and we will drop you off at your respective hotel.
